ART: It's That Summer Time [Pansy/Hermione]

Title: It's That Summer Time
Author/Artist: [livejournal.com profile] bafflinghaze
Prompt: #70 by [livejournal.com profile] oeuvre24
Pairing(s): Hermione Granger/Pansy Parkinson
Word Count/Art Medium: Digital
Rating: PG-13/T (kissing)
Warning(s): High-contrast and saturated art.
Disclaimer: Harry Potter characters are the property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury/Scholastic. No profit is being made, and no copyright infringement is intended.
Notes: My finger slipped and the art became saturated. I hope it communicates the summery-ness of the setting though ;)
Summary: It's hot, it's sunny, the sky's blue and the water's iridescent. Pansy thinks it would be even more perfect if Hermione would join her in the sun too.

Hello! I'm not that familiar with comic strips, so I don't know if this is a thing people usually do - but I'm really enjoying your presentation of each individual frame!! I love how asymmetrically you've laid them out. Compositionally, it feels incredibly fresh and interesting. Your attention to detail really shines through; the fabric of Hermione's dress, the pair's expressions, the last shot - is that Pansy pulling down Hermione's bra!? And the hands!!! This has to be my favourite aspect of your artwork - your commitment to depicting their hands and portraying their touch! It's incredibly intimate: the hand slipping under a dress, a hand gripping the suncream, a zoomed in shot of their finger's intwined... It's all very filmic. And massive props to your technical drawing ability - hands are a TOTAL bitch to draw - well done!!! Mine always look like little sausages. You've drawn them very elegantly. Lovely lovely! Gorgeous fun colours - YAY TO SATURATION!! - it feels fresh and alive and I love it. Thank you anonymous!!

I guess I'm lucky that you're not familiar with comic strips then! This style is very common in online comics. Hehe, I'm glad you liked all the details, and all the hands! Thank you so much!
