Rules & Timeline 2013

Welcome to [livejournal.com profile] hp_drizzle! We are very happy that you found your way to our little fest; please make sure that you read the rules carefully before you sign up!

What is HP Drizzle about?
It's an anonymous prompt-based fest, hosted by [livejournal.com profile] nearlyconscious and [livejournal.com profile] flyingharmony. Authors and artists will create a Harry Potter piece that involves weather in any kind; for example, it could be Character A and Character B kissing in the rain or Character C building a snowman in their garden; everything's possible, and everything's allowed - this includes het, femmeslash, slash, gen or threesomes as well as angst, darkfic, fluff, hurt/comfort, humour or any other genre your heart desires!

"Is there anything I cannot write or draw?"
As we already stated, we'll happily accept any pairings and genres, but there is one exception; no chan (sexual interactions between an adult and an underage person).

RULES

♠ This is an anonymous prompt-based fest. Fic and art may contain het, slash, femslash, and threesomes of all ratings. All genres are welcome in this fest! Angst, flangst, fluff, hurt/comfort, romance, drama, humour, etc.

♥ All stories submitted must be unique to this fest.

♠ This fest is anonymous, please do not tell anyone other than your beta(s) what the specifics of your story/art. We want the submissions to be kept as secret as possible. In addition, please only mention your beta(s) by initials in your author’s notes. Once the fest is over, there will be a big reveal and authors/artists will be able to respond to all comments as well as post their submission to their own journal!

♠ All entries must be at least 1,000 words in length and beta read. There is no maximum (if you go over. If you do not already have a beta reader, we will be putting a call out for betas after claiming has closed. Alternatively you can try [livejournal.com profile] hp_betas or [livejournal.com profile] hp_betas_wanted. Mods reserve the right to proof your submissions and return your fic/art to you if it's a total mess that clearly hasn't been looked over.

♥ As soon as your entry is complete and beta read, feel free to email it to us. Fic should be sent in .docx, .doc, .rtf or .txt. Art should be jpeg, gif, or png, please. (The subject of your email should read: SUBMISSION - YOUR USERNAME)

♠ Extensions will be judged on an individual basis. Try to give us as much notice as possible, we mods don't love last minute panics, it messes with our pretty schedules! (The subject of your email should read: EXTENSION - YOUR USERNAME). If you need to drop out for any reason, please send us an email letting us know before the deadline for submissions.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to drop us a comment below (comments are screened). Additionally, don't hesitate to e-mail us directly at hpdrizzlemods@gmail.com.

Certainly! Just try to post pictures that are NSFW as a link to an external page or journal :)

Do we need to abide by the suggested pairing part of the prompt? For example, if I like prompt x but don't want to write the suggested pairing is it okay to choose a different pairing? Or does the whole prompt go together.

Very good question. Generally, I think that prompts should be regarded as guidelines rather than rules to stick to, but the suggested pairings and characters are quite a major thing so it'd be better if they go together with the prompt; unless, of course, the prompter gives their okay to also write completely different characters or pairings, but you'd have to ask them about this.

Any idea what time on the 20th that claiming will begin??

[identity profile] flyingharmony.livejournal.com 2013-04-14 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
We didn't set an actual time yet, no; but [livejournal.com profile] nearlyconscious and I are both European - GMT+2 right now - so I assume, we'll get the post up at some point in the evening our time. We will definitely make this clear in the prompts list!

Okay, thanks dear. I just saw a prompt I really want and wanted to be sure to get my claim in as early as possible so I'd have a better chance of getting it. Very cute idea for a fest!! :D

Hehe, I'm crossing my fingers that you get it! ♥ (In case you didn't see it yet, claiming goes up tomorrow at around 9pm UTC :) )
